2022 SEAWOLF Lost Coast Pinot Noir Yorkville Highlands, Mendocino.
$52.00
Our new 2022 Seawolf Lost Coast Pinot Noir comes from a small pocket located on the lower ridgelines of Yorkville Highlands. Unlike our organic estate that hovers above the fog-line, this Pinot Noir vineyard is often shrouded in the cooling blanket of the Pacific Ocean fog–pushing the limits of where great Pinot Noir can be grown. Following gentle organic farming techniques and low intervention winemaking favoring wild fermentations, this Dijon clone focused Pinot Noir has beautiful aromas of perfumed fresh Bing cherry, pomegranate spice with undertones of shaved black truffle and sweet loam. On the palate the alpine strawberries, dried Assam leaves, rose petal, and bergamot oil are woven gracefully with the fresh and delicately textured frame of this Pinot Noir. The name Lost Coast comes from a twenty-five mile long stretch of the northern rugged California coast that is only accessible via foot for the die hard wave seekers.
Sur lie aged in Boutes French oak. Two barrels produced, bottled both unfined and unfiltered. Ingredients: Hand harvested, organically grown grapes; native yeasts; naturally occurring malolactic bacteria; minimum effective sulfur. Good for Mother Earth, good for you!
