2021 SEAWOLF Dos Palmas Merlot Yorkville Highlands, Mendocino

When arriving at our organic estate, you are greeted by two towering date palm trees that Jesse’s father, Eric, planted nearly four decades ago.  Flanking your left side, you will find our thirty-five year old Merlot vines.  Sourced from our low yielding organically farmed high attitude Merlot vines, our 2021 Seawolf Dos Palmas Merlot embraces both the intensity of mountain grown fruit and the supple tannins that have drawn wine consumers to this Merlot for decades. Following gentle organic farming techniques and low intervention winemaking favoring wild fermentations, this Merlot has detailed aromas of bright boysenberry, black currants, shaved cocoa bean with notes of dried tobacco leaf and dried underbrush.  Energetic on the palate with a cashmere-like finish.  A rare find, 100% varietal Merlot.  Sur lie aged in Saint Martin French oak.  Just under a single barrel produced, bottled both unfined and unfiltered.  Enjoy now after being decanted or stow a bottle or two away for maximum enjoyment!

Ingredients: Hand harvested, organically grown grapes; native yeasts; naturally occurring malolactic bacteria; minimum effective sulfur. Good for Mother Earth, good for you!
